WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Two more days until Spring Break. The weather was glorious today! I love going home and being outside as much as possible. I also love getting a book (or grading!) and sitting on my porch. As you know, I will not be here on Friday because I have to go to Florida early. I have a big announcement tomorrow….which explains why I’m going to Florida.
At any rate, here’s what we did…..
Tues. 4/1 – April Fool’s Day….only one joke was played on me by youknowwhoyouare in first period and it wasn’t funny. Today, first period took your Realism/Naturalism Test, third period watched the HORRIBLE Famous Authors VHS of F. Scott Fitzgerald. It was awful. Sorry for the mental anguish it may have caused you. So, sixth period, I sent April on a mission…to find who had the A & E version which is MUCH better. So, while she was searching for it, I had you set up your Great Gatsby Folders. We are putting away your lit. anthologies and Language Arts binders for a while and reading GG, our current novel, and using your folder to store all assignments related to this unit. HW: None UNLESS you STILL HAVEN’T TURNED IN YOUR STUDY GUIDE AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!
Sophomores: In second period, we read Acts IV:i-v and discussed while we read. In fourth period, we discussed Act III and your notes. You didn’t know Shakespeare was so raunchy, did you?!? HW: None.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2
Juniors: Today, we watched the A&E version of the F. Scott Fitzgerald documentary. You should have your Table of Contents set up for your GG notebook and this is your first assignment. If you missed today, you will need to find a SCHOLARLY website (not the first one that pops up after you Google it!) and copy and paste 25 facts about: his early life, college life, writing life, and later life. You need to copy and paste the website you used at the bottom. Print it out and put it in your GG notebook. HW: None.
Sophomores: In second period, we ALMOST finished Act IV — one and a half scenes are left. You received your Act IV questions. Due at the end of the period on Friday. Then, in fourth period, you also received your questions, due at the beginning of the period on Friday. We read IV:i-v in class. I have been so loving our discussions. Fabulous.HW: Work on Act IV questions.
Adios. Homeward bound am I.
