Today was a GREAT day! I loved, loved, loved going outside with all of you juniors as we explored 30 minutes of solitude and nature. It was hard not talking for thirty minutes, wasn’t it? I journal-ed a bunch during all three periods. I also got lots of exercise — each walk to the outdoor classroom and back was about 20 minutes round trip. Sixty minutes of walking for me which was fabulous. Today’s picture was taken with Ricky Ju’s camera phone during first period around 9 am this morning. Kate Buccino actually took a picture of a snake she found during sixth period. I asked many of you to email me picture so I could put them on our class website.
Juniors: I checked to make sure you had printed out your poetry handouts from this website. You had it 100% and if you didn’t, I told you I’d take it tomorrow for 50%. Then, I gave you this handout: transcendentalismexperiment.doc. If you missed today, sometime this week or early this weekend, you’re going to need to go out in nature somewhere or go to a park nearby and do our class experiment. If you have questions, please ask.
HW: Just work on looking at your pictures and journaling your ideas. Do a stream-of-conscious writing — don’t worry if what you’re writing has a clear order to it. We’ll work on this later.
Sophomores: Today was a great day! From my observations of your acting troupes, you did very well breaking down I:i and acting it out. If you missed today, here’s a link to our handout: hamlet-day-i.doc
HW: Read I:ii and finish your I:i questions if you didn’t finish them in class. Remember to bring a manilla folder or pocketed folder ASAP. You definitely need it by Wednesday.
Must go home. I’m experimenting with cooking new foods this week. I read up on Rachel Ray’s magazine and Real Simple this weekend. Tonight is red beans and rice with a mixed green salad.
See you guys tomorrow!
