Good Afternoon!

Well, today was interesting to say in the least. Mainly because as you have told me I sound like a 13 yr. old boy whose voice is changing! We had fun laughing at my voice today, that’s for sure! I hope my three week cold decides to leave soon — having laryngitis and teaching is certainly a challenge! Thanks to those of you who volunteered over the last couple of days to be my “voice.”

Here’s what we did today:

Juniors: We talked about your choices for Senior English classes last year and I signed you up for one that you chose. If you were absent Thursday, you’ll need to see me ASAP on Friday, or I’ll have to choose for you. :(   Then, you got back in your original poetry circle groups and rotated twice. So, as of today, everyone has completed three groups. Please remember tomorrow is our Transcendentalist Field experiment day — so, we are going to first go enjoy the poems in the commons and then, we are trooping outside with our digital cameras to take three pictures of something in nature. It should be a lot of fun! Remember — jeans and tennis shoes tomorrow!

HW: BY Monday, click on this link – transcendentalistpoetry.doc -  and print out all your poems. YOU NEED THESE for class. It’s either done or not — and I’m giving you a 100% for your poetry print-outs on Monday.

Sophomores: Today, we had tons of fun. Jennifer Allman, resident Northview actress, Hailey Brickman, Kelli Kreager and Jessie Sutton volunteered to teach today’s class and did a fabulous job with teaching you improv theater to get you warmed up for Hamlet. You were able to get comfortable acting in front of your classmates and even had a chance to act out a few lines from Hamlet. HW: None.

Looking ahead to next week:

LOTF symbol essays Ch. 1-5 Due on Wed. 2/27.  Revision is optional. Remember, that you need to revise your essay, type it and highlight all your changes. Staple this revised copy on top of your original essay with your instruction sheet.

Have a good night!

Hopefully my voice will come back tomorrow!

:) Mrs. B
