SAT Prep: Today, we took our last “to be” verb quiz, and then you took notes on improving sentences.
HW: Linking verb quiz tomorrow.
American Lit.: We took notes from Unit 2 — The Age of Reason from your book. I made sure to model for you how to take notes and asked you questions from the select paragraphs you read. Then, we read Jefferson’s “Declaration of Independence.” I assigned many of you a section of the document to stand up and read.
HW: Revise “Smoke Signals” essay and work on research.
Due Friday: narrowed down research topic, three documented sources, and a working thesis for a QUIZ grade.
10th honors lit.: Today was RAPID fishbowl day. You had to discuss nine chapter (16-24) in 40 minutes! With your assigned group, you spent five minutes discussing the following in each chapter: significance of character/plot development. I walked around a few times and observed each group.Then, I called a couple of groups and individuals to comment on your discussion. You took notes with your group and when other groups were presenting. Good job!
HW: 1. Vocab. Quiz #4 tomorrow, Ch. 25, and bring one printed out source for your research paper. (the info., not just the online journal or website).
