Happy Fall! Aren’t you just loving this beautiful weather??  I know I am. My house is completely decorated for Fall and Halloween. Now, I just have to think up my Halloween costume…brahhahaha.

SAT Prep: You completed your fourth section from the website, www.collegeboard.com/satonlinecourseschool. I began checking index cards and calling you up to review your quiz results from the last three days. I will finish checking index cards and calling you up on Monday.

HW: Study for our LAST vocabulary quiz #8 on Monday. Finish your fourth section lessons and quizzes if you were not able to do so in class.

crucible.jpgAmerican Lit.: Our actors performed 12 pages in Act I: from page 1245-1257. If you were an audience member, you took note on the commentary and discussion points I brought up. If you were an actor, you will need to get these notes from a classmate ASAP.

1st period: Acting “A’s” for preparation and effort go to: Britney Washington, Joe Ferguson, Marlene S, Kyle Rassler, Will Whorton, and Claire Pondel. Some of you were a bit shakey today and obviously hadn’t prepared. This weakened the experience for all. You MUST prepare.

HW: If you have a part, you must read/understand the rest of Act I.

jane_eyre_02_465x370.jpg10th honors lit: I gave you this handout: jane-eyre-chapters-1-to-5.doc. You were to write 2-3 sentence responses for: characterization, questions. You were to write paragraph responses for the Romantic and Gothic Literature section. You must include a quotation for each paragraph in this section. You may NEVER EVER EVER EVER use the word quotation in anything you write anymore. Use your Mythology in A Separate Peace article for examples on how to properly embed quotations. Finally, your analysis and dig deeper sections require 4-5 sentence responses. THIS COUNTS AS A QUIZ GRADE. If you need more time, you can take it home, but it is due Monday.

HW: Read Ch. 7-10 (pages 71-107) and as always, be prepared for a pop quiz.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Love,

Mrs. B :)

SAT Prep: You completed one section of lessons and quizzes on: www.collegeboard.com/satonlinecourseschool

HW: Complete one more lesson and quizzes for a total of three lessons and quizzes for tomorrow.

American Lit.: You took your Puritan Lit. quiz. We graded it in class and you received your grade. It is in the grede book.

HW: If you have a part in Act I, review your role through page 1260

10th honors lit: Pop quiz today both periods on Ch. 4 in Jane Eyre.  We reviewed your quiz in class and the grades are in the grade book.

HW: Read Chapters 5 and 6 (pages 50-70) in JE.

I CANNOT STRESS enough that you need to approach me ASAP for help if you are studying (not just “reading over” the material) and struggling. I am here for you and would love to help you if you need it. Not approaching me tells me you do not care about your grade and have no interest in improving it. Now, you wouldn’t want me to have that impression, would you???

Have a good night! See you tomorrow!

Love,

Mrs. B

SAT Prep: We were in the computer lab all period. Only 10 of you had registered for the course, so we helped each other register. You read one full lesson and took one quiz.

HW: None

American Lit.: We performed from pages 1234-1245 in The Crucible.  First period — best performance of the day. Kudos and special applause to Joe Ferguson!  3rd period — due to absences and a couple of you not being prepared, the performance was very, very rough. You can do better. I expect you to tomorrow. 6th period — We had fun, but you guys need to settle down and get to business BECAUSE you ended up with four pages of hw that 1st period and 3rd period didn’t have to do.

HW: Study for Quiz — over Puritan Notes, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” and the first ten pages of Act I in The Crucible.

10th honors lit. – You had Lit. Log #9 – Note Jane’s thoughts of suicide in Chapter 2. Why does she feels this way as a ten year old? What does this reveal about her psyche so far in the novel? Explain.

Then, I led you in a discussion of chapters 2 and 3.

HW: Ch. 4 (pages 35-49) due tomorrow. As always, be prepared for a pop reading quiz.
